it's all in the details

sometimes the smallest of things can amaze me. it's great when companies see that too. i notice everything with my little marketing eye. having the "it" product or innovative idea just isn't enough. how you present that to the world is soooo important more than many people believe. we're a world of visual feasters and the feast is enormous. it's difficult to carve out a niche for yourself. in my web wanderings i've put together a little sampling of those i feel who got it right.
Liz Wright is a singer/songwriter that embraces the history of Jazz, Gospel, and R&B. her website matches her deep, rich voice. everything is melodic - including her choice of clothes- all details have been thought over. beautiful and timeless.

the Tumbleweek Cotillion is a group of individuals with a love of all things vintage - and french. it seems they are starting a group fair with various vendors of similiar tastes and style. the website is ok- all the ideas are there, but some of the info. is lost and i have a few design problems, but what i really took notice of was the press kits they made for the local media. instead of choosing to send the typical press release, which we all know sits on a desk somewhere, they took the time to bake and decorate cupcakes, packaged the cupcakes with their announcement and sent that to the media. who doesn't like cupcakes? brilliant.

Dejarnette New Orleans, as presented by jewelry designer Katherine Dejarnette Babin, has a look that is soft and inviting. Her site is elegantly designed, yet clean and simple. Of course her jewelry if fabulous. i've always been a sucker for found objects. but it was the design and details of her website that drew me in - her choice of fonts and colors, the arrangement of information on her site, and the visual elements all work together. it's professional and stylish.
Deuce Creative is a Houston-based branding agency- and it shows. forget the typical industrial, minimal, slick advertising agency. Deuce is about sophistication and charm. exposed brick walls work with the vintage chandeliers and soft color palette. so lovely a place to work, you wish your home was as chic. (visit the photo gallery on their site to view the office space.) tres chic.
