pursuing your dream
03. april .07
my dream has always been to own my own boutique and design services shop. i've visualized it, stylized it, marketed it, even named it...(hint: blog name) the older i get the more i realize that it's time to take action and move from the "someday i'd like to" to the action phase, or it will always be just a dream. moving back to new england has really been the catalyst that i needed to jump to the next phase. it just feels like this is the right place and the right time. my inner voice has always been a guiding force for decisions i've made- it's hard to explain, harder still to type, but when something just feels right, i just instinctively know it... and this is one of those instinctual moments. great things certainly don't happen if you're sitting on the sidelines. I have the opportunity to participate in a group antique market in essex, connecticut as one of their vendors. i feel it's a great chance to test the waters, try out different styles, get myself organized and see what happens. it's exciting trying something new, actually putting your dreams into motion. i encourage everyone to put one of your dreams into the "doing" stage rather than the "dreaming" stage....

I am in complete agreement with you!!! So many, many times, the hardest part of following your dream (or doing anything) is taking the first step. Everything else after that falls into place so easily.
I remember when I first opened the boutique. I remember no fear, just jumping right in, and just like Kim said, everything falls into perfect place.
It sounds to me, like your very close to making your dream a reality.
