lately, i've been oogling and googling over wallpaper. not the typical 80's style that seemed to grace plenty of bathrooms or pretty little rosey girly wallpaper, but gorgeous flocked, damask, toile, entomology- high style works of art.  i want to wallpaper everything now, but seeing that i may be moving and the house i live in i currently rent, i've had to make due with using wallpaper as shelf linings, drawer linings and in accented areas.  here's a few of my favorites... 

Walnut opened in Hollywood in early 2005 with the goal of showcasing cutting edge wallpaper not found at typical retail wallcovering stores. Their second floor studio quickly gained an underground reputation as a one-stop-shop for hard to find designs from around the world.

Noted for its surreal and provocative textiles and wallpapers, the design studio Timorous Beasties was founded in Glasgow in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons, who had met while studying textile design at Glasgow School of Art. Timorous Beasties is shortlisted for the Designer of the Year prize in 2005. 

Cole and Son has been printing the world’s finest wallpapers since 1873. Over 4000 hand carved wooden blocks make up one of the world’s most distinguished wallpaper archives associated with some of the greatest design names of the time. 

Cole’s wallpapers can be found in a multitude of famous buildings from the Palace of Westminster to the Brighton Pavilion, from Buckingham Palace to the White House.
